Would you like to know more about CAE, CAM and CAD experience? On this page you will learn the definitions.
What is CAE ? - Computer-Aided-Engineering
CAE represents the computational simulation of different loads on a 3-D model of a component. Computer-aided methods offer engineers the following possibilities, among others: The development of a product can therefore already be perfected on the PC to such an extent that the probability of smooth use in the application is significantly increased. In addition, the methods can be used for optimization, damage analysis or quality assurance. Typical examples are the tests for mechanical, thermal or hydraulic load.
What is Computer-Aided-Manufacturing (CAM) ?
The use of software in today's production makes a large part of the achieved automation possible in the first place. CAM are therefore programs that allow the independent execution of production processes. In the process, the machine must be told exactly which component is being machined at which time with which machine parts. A well-known example from the field of machine control are so-called CNC machines, which stands for Computerized Numerical Control or computer-aided numerical control. The machine tool is programmed for a specific manufacturing process.
What is CAD? - Computer-Aided-Design
A variety of professions use CAD programs. These can be designers, engineers or architects etc. CAD software makes it possible, for example, to create drafts, plans or 3-D models on the computer. The fast realization and an immediate exchange of ideas and concepts is possible through this process. The computer models created also serve as a starting point for numerous other computer-aided methods.
